Johanna and Mikko are highly experienced and educated professionals from Helsinki, Finland and have worked in the music industry for more than 15 years.
From 2010-2018 they were based in Dubai performing as the Johanna Sandell Duo – a dynamic act that is both elegant and sophisticated as well as fresh and glamorous. During that time they successfully performed at numerous high end events in the UAE and around and were also busily booked as a residence act in different 5-star hotels.

Mikko is a multi-instrumentalist and a virtuoso on the piano on which he accompanies Johanna’s famously beautiful voice. They perform an extensive repertoire of well known songs – their expertise includes an eclectic mix of pop & jazz, stylish lounge and house, soulful easy listening and also current chart hits mixed with uptempo latin tunes for the more festive crowd. In other words – they cater to pretty much any kind of event!
Johanna Sandell Duo performs both with and without backing tracks (high quality tracks that they themselves produce in a studio). They speak fluent English, Swedish and Finnish and perform also in French, Spanish and Portuguese.
Johanna and Mikko are freelancers and are constantly looking for new inspiring projects. If required they can also perform as a trio, with a professional saxophonist.

Johanna
Johanna has been singing since she learned how to talk. Starting out when she was a kid in Finland singing in choir and taking piano lessons she then, as a teen in England started taking voice lessons and grew a passion for musical theatre. She starred in a couple plays before moving back to Finland.
In her late teens Johanna started studying at the Pop & Jazz Conservatory in Helsinki and performing with different bands. She landed herself a record deal with Universal Music, released a couple of singles and toured the country for a few years.
Then she met Mikko, fell in love and together they formed the cover bands Living Cover and Higher Ground. After a magical vacation in Dubai the two of them decided to stay and have since been working as a duo in various 5-star hotels.
Johanna also works as a studio singer and has been featured on the albums of many famous Finnish artists.
Mikko
Mikko is a pianist and a multi-instrumentalist. In addition to playing piano he sings, plays the guitar, bass, drums, harmonica, accordion just to name a few.
Nowadays most of his time is spent in his studio working on various projects – songwriting, programming, producing and mixing music.
